Zuma’s Revenge

The 2009 sequel with tiki bosses, side-scrolling stages, and new frog tricks.

Game with multicolored balls and masks on a stone platform.

Zuma’s Revenge

Zuma’s Revenge is PopCap’s 2009 sequel to Zuma Deluxe. The stone frog and rolling chain are back, but now there’s a story — you fight through tropical island chapters and face the legendary tiki bosses at the end of each. Free in your browser, no download.

How to Play Zuma’s Revenge

Move your mouse to aim the frog at the center of the playfield, click to fire a colored ball into the chain. Right-click swaps the loaded ball with the one in reserve. Match three or more of the same color to clear the chain before it reaches the goal.

Zuma’s Revenge adds twists over the original. Some levels lock the frog onto a fixed track instead of free-spinning, changing how you angle shots. Others give you two frogs at once on opposite sides of the screen, controlled together. Each chapter ends in a boss fight: a tiki idol attacks with stone projectiles you have to dodge while clearing the chain. Power-ups expanded too — lightning balls, a stone-cutter laser, slow-time.

Tips & Tricks

  • Watch the boss patterns. Tiki bosses telegraph their moves before they swing — wait for the gap.
  • Keep firing during boss fights. The chain doesn’t pause; you have to manage both threats at once.
  • Use the lightning ball wisely. Save it for clearing long color runs, not boss damage.
  • Track both frogs in dual-frog levels. The left can clear what the right can’t reach.
  • Pause the chain with combos. Big multi-color clears slow the chain mid-boss-fight.

What Makes Zuma’s Revenge Different

Where Zuma Deluxe ran similar marble levels back-to-back, Revenge is built around variety. Adventure mode breaks the game into themed chapters; boss stages introduce active opponents you have to outsmart; dual-frog levels test your spatial awareness in a new way. The original Deluxe is still the cleaner experience for purists; Revenge is for players who want the feature-rich version of the formula.

Who Will Enjoy This Game

This rewards anyone who liked the original and wants more variety — boss fights, story chapters, dual-frog twists. The ramp is faster than in Deluxe; for a gentler entry, Zuma Classic Game is slower-paced, and Maya Zuma offers a temple-themed alternative.
